Recently, the People's Government of Guangdong Province announced the winners of the 2025 Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Awards, with a total of 13 Zhanjiang-related scientific and technological achievements making the list.
In this round of awards, there were 13 prizes involving Zhanjiang, including 1 second prize in the Natural Science Award, 2 first prizes in the Technical Invention Award, 4 second prizes in the Science and Technology Progress Award, and 6 Achievement Promotion Awards. 01 Key Technologies and Industrialization for Multi-Scenario Integrated Development of Deep-Sea Offshore Wind Power Project

The project on key technologies and industrialization for multi-scenario integrated development of deep-sea offshore wind power, led by China National Offshore Oil Corporation Zhanjiang Company, was the first to propose the marine comprehensive energy island development concept of "integrated development and unified implementation of offshore wind power and regional development" in China's deep and distant seas. Taking "offshore wind power plus" industrial integration as a breakthrough, the team developed the world's first new semi-submersible floating wind power platform capable of withstanding super typhoons of Category 17, and established core power supply technologies that enable offshore wind power to achieve a penetration rate exceeding 30% in isolated microgrids for oil and gas fields.
02 Innovation and Application of High-Quality Pearl Production Technology for Pinctada martensii Project

The project established an integrated collaborative system of "industry-academia-research-application" to promote the "Haixuan No. 1" variety, aquaculture models, and processing technologies. Over the past decade, it has generated cumulative economic benefits exceeding 9.4 billion yuan (including 3.5 billion yuan in the past three years), effectively driving the technological upgrading and structural optimization of China's seawater pearl industry, and supporting Zhanjiang in becoming a core seawater pearl production area accounting for more than 75% of national output.
03 Research, Innovation, and Demonstration Promotion of Key Technologies for Green Disease-Resistant Preservation and Processing of Major Fruits in Western Guangdong Project
This project was led by Lingnan Normal University. After more than 10 years of joint research, the team achieved a series of innovative results in scientific understanding of specialty fruit preservation, precision disease-resistant preservation technology, product development, and achievement promotion mechanisms. For example, they made breakthroughs in 3 key processing technologies for major specialty fruits in western Guangdong, developed 9 series of high-quality products including dried fruits and juices, and built a complete technical system covering both solid and liquid processing, systematically overcoming industrial challenges such as long traditional processing cycles and easy loss of nutritional flavor in tropical fruits.
