Markets across Asia started the trading session on a positive note, with both Japanese and South Korean benchmarks opening higher.
Japan's Nikkei 225 index opened with a gain of 0.6%, reaching 62,734.68 points, with automobile stocks leading the upward momentum.
In South Korea, the benchmark KOSPI index surged 1.1% at the open to 6,089.11 points, supported by strong performances from the semiconductor sector. SK hynix shares advanced by 2%, while Samsung Electronics saw its stock price climb more than 3%.
