Data released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on September 2nd shows that China's software and information technology services industry (hereinafter referred to as "software industry") maintained strong operational momentum in the first seven months of this year, with steady growth in software business revenue and total profits, while software business exports sustained positive growth.
The data reveals that in the first seven months, China's software business revenue reached 8.3246 trillion yuan (RMB), representing a year-on-year increase of 12.3%. The software industry's total profits amounted to 1.089 trillion yuan, up 12.4% year-on-year. Software business exports totaled $33.98 billion, achieving a 5.2% year-on-year growth.
By sector, software product revenue demonstrated stable growth. In the first seven months, software product revenue reached 1.8011 trillion yuan, up 10.6% year-on-year, accounting for 21.6% of total industry revenue. Among these, basic software product revenue was 105.2 billion yuan, up 13.0% year-on-year, while industrial software product revenue reached 167.7 billion yuan, up 8.8% year-on-year.
Information technology services revenue maintained double-digit growth. During the first seven months, information technology services revenue totaled 5.7246 trillion yuan, up 13.4% year-on-year, representing 68.8% of total industry revenue. Within this segment, cloud computing and big data services generated combined revenue of 866.3 billion yuan, up 12.6% year-on-year, accounting for 15.1% of information technology services revenue. Integrated circuit design revenue reached 251.1 billion yuan, up 18.5% year-on-year, while e-commerce platform technology services revenue totaled 715.6 billion yuan, up 9.8% year-on-year.
Information security revenue and embedded system software revenue showed steady growth. In the first seven months, information security products and services revenue reached 118.1 billion yuan, up 6.2% year-on-year. Embedded system software revenue totaled 680.9 billion yuan, up 8.5% year-on-year.
By region, software business revenue in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern regions grew by 12.6%, 12.3%, 10.4%, and 9.3% year-on-year respectively in the first seven months. The eastern region accounted for 84.3% of national software business revenue.
During the same period, software business revenue in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region increased by 13.2% year-on-year, while the Yangtze River Delta region saw growth of 14.7% year-on-year. Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Shanghai ranked among the top five nationally in software business revenue, with year-on-year growth rates of 13.4%, 9.1%, 14.4%, 11.8%, and 20.1% respectively.
