TVB: Board Seeks Shareholder Approval to Rename Television Broadcasts Limited as “TVB Limited”

Bulletin Express03-25

Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB, stock code 00511) has proposed changing its English name to “TVB Limited” and its Chinese name to “無綫集團有限公司”.

The rebranding initiative requires two approvals: 1) A special resolution by shareholders at the upcoming annual general meeting (AGM). 2) Issuance of a certificate of change of name by Hong Kong’s Companies Registry.

Management states that the new names better align with the group’s transformation from a traditional terrestrial broadcaster into a diversified media and entertainment operator across Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China and international markets. Operations now span free-to-air and streaming platforms, content creation, artiste management and IP licensing.

Operational Impact • Daily operations, financial position and shareholder rights remain unchanged. • Existing share certificates will stay valid for trading, settlement and registration; no free replacement is planned. • New certificates will be issued under the updated English and Chinese names once effective. • Subject to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited’s confirmation, the Chinese stock short name will be revised accordingly, while the stock code (00511) remains unchanged.

Next Steps A circular detailing the proposal and AGM notice will be dispatched to shareholders. Further announcements will disclose AGM voting results, the effective date of the new names and the revised Chinese stock short name.
