Qingyang Data Center Cluster's Computing Power Exceeds 180,000 Petaflops
It was recently announced at a conference in Qingyang that the city, a key node in the national "East Data West Computing" strategy, has firmly focused on developing the digital economy as a critical driver of new productive forces. The area is gradually upgrading from a computing capacity base to a digital industry hub and has been selected as one of the first batch of pilot cities for the national "Millisecond Computing" special action.
In the first half of this year, 14 data centers began construction locally, and the Qingyang data center cluster's computing power reached 185,500 petaflops, with a target to exceed 300,000 petaflops by the end of the year. Qingyang has coordinated its planning with the approach of "using green electricity to cultivate industries and green computing to foster scenarios," holding monthly meetings to advance the "East Data West Computing" project and the national zero-carbon industrial park. Investment attraction efforts are addressing key challenges, with projects like the Smart Blueprint Western Intelligent Computing Center breaking ground, GW-level data center projects from companies such as Century Internet rapidly landing, and data center projects by China Energy Engineering Corporation, China Telecom, and China Mobile accelerating. Computing equipment from companies like Lingqiong Shunlian and Qinhuai Data is being continuously deployed, and training tasks for mainstream large models such as Kimi, WPS AI, and DeepSeek are expanding. The nation's first AI platform for market supervision and law enforcement, supported by Qingyang's practical scenarios, has been launched, and industry applications like Qianli Intelligent Driving are deepening.
Qingyang is intensifying its "attract big, strong, and leading enterprises" initiative. From January to June, the city added 221 new registered digital economy enterprises, bringing the total to 737, and large-scale digital economy enterprises achieved revenue of 2.94 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.4%. The city is striving to become the "World's Computing Valley and Keyword Capital," adhering to digital trade to lead high-level openness. By leveraging the three major telecom operators and Future Network Group, it is accelerating the layout of direct computing links, adding 23 new "twin city" partnerships for computing networks, reaching a total of 58. The construction of a national data trading free trade zone and the export of keywords are being expedited.
Leveraging its powerful computing base, Qingyang successfully hosted the 2026 Digital China Innovation Summit's low-altitude economy track competition. Jiuzhou Weian's self-developed drones have entered mass production, and the Ruihua low-altitude drone project has been completed and put into operation, addressing the shortcomings in the high-end drone manufacturing supply chain. A new pattern of coordinated development, driven by computing power construction and leveraging intelligent manufacturing and the low-altitude economy, is taking shape.
