On December 15, a significant milestone was reached in the collaborative development of "domestic chips + domestic models." SENSETIME-W (00020) launched the industry's first multi-episode generative intelligent agent, Seko2.0, while Cambricon Technologies Corporation Limited (688256.SH) announced the successful adaptation of SENSETIME's self-developed "Rixin" Seko series, marking the achievement as "Day 0." Cambricon has officially stated that only SENSETIME's "Rixin" and DeepSeek have achieved Day 0 adaptation, with the Seko series being one of the few multimodal models in the industry to complete domestic chip adaptation.
Cambricon noted in its official WeChat account, "This adaptation with SENSETIME in multimodal generative models represents a key practice in the collaborative innovation between domestic computing power and large models, enabling more developers and enterprises to access multimodal AI capabilities at lower costs."
As large model technology advances, demand for multimodal generative models has surged. In October, Cambricon and SENSETIME entered a strategic partnership to focus on joint hardware-software optimization and building an open, win-win industrial ecosystem. The two companies aim to drive the prosperity of domestic AI applications, refine more efficient and user-friendly product systems, and create open, developer-friendly tools and ecosystems to foster innovation in cutting-edge applications.
The Day 0 adaptation of the multimodal large model signifies an accelerated response in the "domestic chip + domestic model" ecosystem. Cambricon's successful Day 0 adaptation of SENSETIME's "Rixin" means its chip hardware was ready to support the new model on its release day—a key indicator of domestic chips' capability in supporting AI ecosystem development and rapid technical response.
Cambricon's adaptation of SENSETIME's Seko series highlights the close cooperation among domestic AI players. This rapid adaptation extends the domestic AI ecosystem from language models to more complex and challenging multimodal generative fields.
SENSETIME's "Rixin" Seko series, including SekoIDX and SekoTalk for image and video generation, forms the core technical foundation of the Seko2.0 agent. The collaboration with Cambricon in multimodal adaptation is a major step in domestic large model and computing power synergy, lowering costs for developers and enterprises to access top-tier multimodal AI capabilities.
To efficiently leverage domestic computing power, SENSETIME designed a highly compatible adaptation plugin in its LightX2V framework for quick hardware integration. Additionally, the Seko series and LightX2V framework incorporate hardware-friendly innovations like low-bit quantization, compressed communication, and sparse attention, improving inference performance by over 3x.
Post-adaptation, the partnership will enter deeper optimization phases. Future joint efforts will focus on enhancing model efficiency, improving computing power and resource utilization, and optimizing cross-hardware compatibility to further reduce barriers and improve the multimodal AI experience.
Both SENSETIME and Cambricon emphasized their commitment to advancing the domestic AI application ecosystem, refining efficient product systems, and fostering an open, innovative environment for developers.
