President Donald Trump rebutted Jamie Dimon's criticism of the U.S. Department of Justice's investigation into the Federal Reserve, calling the JPMorgan Chase CEO's suggestion that Trump is undermining the central bank's independence "wrong."
"I think what I'm doing is fine," Trump stated, "and there's a bad person at the Fed."
Earlier Tuesday, Dimon expressed that the Justice Department's actions concerning the Fed could potentially weaken the central bank's independence and might lead to higher borrowing costs. This came after the DOJ served a grand jury subpoena to the Fed regarding Chair Powell's congressional testimony about the renovation of the Federal Reserve headquarters.
