The Chang-Shen Expressway Hehui Section expansion project has reached a key milestone with the completion of its interchange greening works at Xiaojinkou Interchange, where the final batch of Bombax ceiba trees were planted. The entire project is set to be fully operational by the end of this year.
Spanning approximately 116.6 kilometers, the project connects Dongyuan County in Heyuan City to Huiyang District in Huizhou City, upgrading the route to an eight-lane expressway standard. As a critical artery linking eastern and northern Guangdong to the Greater Bay Area, the expansion features 18 interchanges.
Innovative "one-interchange, one-theme" ecological greening strategies were implemented to address diverse terrains, including undulating slopes and complex rock formations.
