As the National Day holiday approaches, the Changbai Mountain scenic area in Jilin is preparing for a surge in visitor numbers.
According to statistics from the Changbai Mountain Management Committee, in the year since the Shenyang-Baihe high-speed railway opened (September 28, 2025 to September 27, 2026), the scenic area has received a total of 4.0167 million visitors, an increase of 8.7% year on year.
With visitor numbers continuing to grow, transport connections in the scenic area are facing a test.
"During the National Day holiday, we will focus on managing scenic area shuttle services and tour charter vehicles, and strictly investigate problems such as illegal operations and unlicensed passenger transport," said Li Yuxin, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Tourism and Culture and Sports Bureau of the Changbai Mountain Management Committee. On the other hand, the high-speed railway station has reserve shuttle buses for emergency evacuation, tidal scheduling of taxis and ride-hailing vehicles, direct buses from the distribution center to the high-speed railway station, and volunteer vehicle teams, among other measures, to improve short-distance connection support.
During past holidays, the problem of long waiting times for food delivery was relatively prominent. Before this year's National Day holiday, the local area launched a Changbai Mountain local life service platform called "Chibao" to supplement food delivery capacity.
To cope with large visitor flows, the Changbai Mountain Enduli Leisure and Vacation Business Travel Community has added 150 temporary parking spaces in addition to its existing parking lot, and has also planned diversified and immersive cultural tourism interactive content.
Local homestays have also taken multiple measures to provide thoughtful service to visitors.
