On March 27, news emerged that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) government has announced the appointment of four new members to the Chief Executive's Advisory Group. Their terms will begin on April 1, 2026, and conclude on June 30, 2027.

The four new members are Baidu Group Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO Li Yanhong; Chairman of HENGRUI PHARMA Sun Piaoyang; Founder and CEO of StarFive Semiconductor Technologies Co., Ltd. (StarFive Technology) Xu Tao; and Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Biren Technology Zhang Wen.

Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu stated, "Since its establishment in 2023, the Chief Executive's Advisory Group has consistently provided valuable and constructive advice on the strategic development of Hong Kong. The newly appointed members are all industry leaders in cutting-edge fields such as hard tech and life sciences. Their participation will further broaden the professional scope of the Advisory Group. I look forward to the members continuing to offer suggestions on key issues, including how Hong Kong can consolidate and enhance its international competitiveness, better integrate into and serve the national development strategy, and deepen international exchanges and cooperation, particularly as Hong Kong proactively aligns with the national '16th Five-Year Plan' initiative, thereby creating a new phase of high-quality development for Hong Kong."
