According to market reports, ASMPT recently released its second-quarter results, posting adjusted net profit of HK$638 million, beating market expectations by 76%. Revenue reached HK$4.94 billion, exceeding the midpoint of the company's guidance by 10.5%. Orders stood at HK$7.08 billion, significantly outperforming expectations for both the semiconductor and SMT businesses, with a book-to-bill ratio of 1.43 times. Adjusted gross profit margin came in at 42.5%, surpassing market forecasts by 2.8 percentage points.
Looking ahead, the company's third-quarter revenue guidance ranges from US$630 million to US$690 million, with a midpoint of US$660 million, representing a 46% year-on-year increase and a 5% sequential rise, surpassing market expectations by 10%. A Citi research note highlighted that ASMPT's second-quarter performance and third-quarter outlook both significantly exceeded estimates, with the book-to-bill ratio remaining at a five-year high. The recent 35% pullback in share prices has made risk-reward dynamics attractive.
