On May 15, during a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun was asked by a New York Times reporter whether China and the United States had reached any new understanding regarding rare earth supplies.
Guo Jiakun responded that China has already released information concerning the meeting between the heads of state of China and the United States. He emphasized that China consistently strives to maintain the stability and security of global industrial and supply chains.
