STANCHART Completes GBP 14.92 Million Buyback; 5.96% of Mandated Shares Now Repurchased

Standard Chartered PLC (STANCHART) disclosed that on 27 April 2026 it repurchased 849,232 ordinary shares across the London Stock Exchange, CBOE BXE and CBOE CXE. The aggregate consideration was GBP 14.92 million, implying a volume-weighted average price of GBP 17.57 per share within a daily price range of GBP 17.39–17.72.

The newly repurchased shares are to be cancelled, bringing the total number awaiting cancellation to 4.97 million shares—equivalent to 0.22 % of the current issued share capital of 2,224.13 million shares.

Under the authority granted by shareholders on 8 May 2025, the bank is authorised to repurchase up to 236.38 million shares. Including the latest transaction, 140.82 million shares have been bought back since the mandate was approved, representing 5.96 % of the shares outstanding at the time of the resolution.

Despite the ongoing buyback activity, the company’s issued share count remained unchanged at 2,224.13 million as of 27 April 2026 because none of the repurchased shares had yet been cancelled.
