On December 18, the Hainan Free Trade Port officially launched island-wide customs closure, marking a milestone in China's opening-up policy.
During a low-altitude economy application test flight event held today at Xuwen Port, S.F. Holding's logistics drone successfully traversed the Qiongzhou Strait. In the future, alongside existing passenger and cargo ship transportation, the airspace will gradually open more transport channels, providing faster and diversified logistics solutions for cross-strait shipments.
As a critical link between Hainan Free Trade Port and mainland China, the Qiongzhou Strait handles over 90% of the island's daily necessities and production materials. Xuwen County in Guangdong Province, located on the strait's northern side, serves as both a key distribution hub for mainland goods entering Hainan and a core transit point for Hainan-bound cargo. With rising demand for cross-border trade and high-value goods post-closure, traditional maritime transport faces new capacity challenges.
To address these logistical bottlenecks and meet post-closure efficiency demands, S.F. Holding has pioneered low-altitude logistics innovation. On December 1, the company launched China's first regular cross-strait drone logistics route, slashing Qiongzhou Strait delivery times from "hours" to "minutes." Utilizing the Fengzhou-90 drone, the route completes the crossing in just 20 minutes—nearly five hours faster than traditional land-sea transport. This breakthrough not only offers fresh solutions for time-sensitive goods like perishables, emergency medicines, and high-value documents but also establishes an "aerial economic corridor" and "lifeline" supporting customs closure operations.
Beyond drone logistics, S.F. Holding is comprehensively upgrading Hainan's logistics infrastructure to build a smart, green, and efficient modern system. Key initiatives include: - Infrastructure upgrades: The Haikou S.F. Fengtai Industrial Park now operates an intelligent automated sorting center featuring driverless vehicles. - Policy expertise: A dedicated international team ensures compliance with the Free Trade Port's "first-line liberalization, second-line control" framework. - Network expansion: Targeted "one-city-one-plan" strategies enhance service coverage in key cities like Haikou, Sanya, Danzhou, and Wenchang.
Moving forward, S.F. Holding will continue optimizing logistics solutions to meet Hainan Free Trade Port's evolving needs, driving efficiency and connectivity across its modern logistics network.
