SoftBank Group Corp has invested an additional $10 billion in OpenAI, which forms part of a previously announced $30 billion investment plan.
The Japanese technology investment firm stated on Wednesday that it has borrowed $10 billion under a bridge loan agreement to fund this second tranche of investment through its Vision Fund 2.
Softbank Group Corp indicated that it plans to complete the final $10 billion investment installment by October 1. The company had already invested the first $10 billion tranche in the developer of ChatGPT back in April.
