BAIC New Energy and Pony.ai Enter Strategic Cooperation Phase 2.0, L4 Robotaxis Set for Middle East and Europe

Deep News01-10

On the afternoon of January 10, at the BAIC New Energy Smart Mobility Tech Day, BAIC New Energy and Pony.ai officially established a comprehensive "five-in-one" strategic partnership. The collaboration aims to jointly promote the global expansion of the proven "China Solution" for the Arcfox Alpha T5 Robotaxi, exporting a benchmark system that includes technical standards, an efficient and replicable operational model, and a mutually beneficial commercial ecosystem, with a primary focus on markets in the Middle East and Europe.

Since their initial strategic agreement at the first Tech Day in November 2024, the two companies have successfully completed the mass production of 600 Arcfox Alpha T5 Robotaxi units. These vehicles are now in full operation in Beijing and Shenzhen, navigating diverse and complex driving scenarios such as urban roads, highways, and city ring roads, achieving all-weather, full-scenario autonomous driving.

This deepened cooperation builds upon the practical experience gained from the mass production and operation of the Arcfox Alpha T5 Robotaxi. It seeks to further expand the breadth and depth of the partnership by systematically advancing across five dimensions: product, market, industry, ecosystem, and capital, leveraging a multi-billion-yuan investment to catalyze a trillion-yuan-scale industry synergy in intelligent automotive driving.
