Alibaba's chip development arm, T-Head, has disclosed its upcoming server CPU roadmap at the 2026 Hangzhou Yunqi Conference, confirming plans to release two new processor generations, the Yitian 720 and Yitian 730, during 2027.
The Yitian 720 is designed to deliver comprehensive upgrades across single-core performance, core density, and energy efficiency. Meanwhile, the Yitian 730 will mark a significant milestone as the first processor built entirely on T-Head's proprietary CPU microarchitecture, with single-core SPECint2017/GHz performance projected to reach up to 1.4 times that of the current Yitian 710.
T-Head also indicated that it will continue to advance its self-developed CPU microarchitecture over the coming years. The upcoming Yitian 750, which will incorporate the second-generation custom core, is slated to support T-Head's proprietary ICN chip-to-chip interconnect bus protocol. This will enable direct connectivity between Yitian CPUs and the Zhenwu AI chips via the ICN bus, further enhancing collaboration efficiency between processing and AI acceleration units.
To date, T-Head has introduced a full suite of data center core chips, including the Zhenwu series AI accelerators, the Yitian series server CPUs, the ICN Switch interconnect chips, the Panmai series smart network interface cards, and the Zhenyue series storage controller chips. This portfolio represents a complete, self-developed stack spanning compute, networking, and storage capabilities, all engineered for seamless end-to-end coordination.
