Tehran Warns Foreign Backing of US Economic Pressure Constitutes an Act of War

Deep News15:24

Iran's top national security official has issued a stark warning, stating that any nation which participates in or supports the American economic campaign against Tehran will be viewed as committing an act of war.

Mohsen Rezaee, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, delivered this message on the social media platform X late on Sunday. He asserted that if the economic pressure persists, Iran would halt all oil exports, cutting off shipments not only through the Strait of Hormuz but also from any location across the Persian Gulf.

The declaration signals a significant escalation in rhetoric from the Iranian government, which is currently grappling with the severe impact of US sanctions on its economy. Rezaee's comments underscore the country's determination to respond forcefully to external pressure and warn potential allies of the United States against participating in its policies.
