METIS TECHBIO-P (07666) Set to Join Hang Seng Composite Index

Stock News08-23 18:46

METIS TECHBIO-P (07666) has announced its selection as a constituent stock of the Hang Seng Composite Index, effective September 7, 2026. This follows the quarterly index review results for the period ending June 30, 2026, released by Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited on August 21, 2026.

The Hang Seng Composite Index serves as a comprehensive benchmark for the Hong Kong market, covering the top 95% of listed companies on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (HKEX) by cumulative market capitalization. This index is widely used as a benchmark for index funds, mutual funds, and investment performance evaluation.

Upon inclusion in the Hang Seng Composite Index, the company's H-shares issued and listed on the HKEX are expected to become eligible for trading under the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect programs. These channels facilitate stock trading and investment between investors in Hong Kong and mainland China's capital markets.

The board believes that being included as a constituent of the Hang Seng Composite Index reflects the international capital market's strong recognition of the company's investment value and growth prospects. This inclusion is expected to broaden the shareholder base, attract more long-term institutional investors, enhance trading liquidity of the company's shares, and lay a solid foundation for long-term development, thereby strengthening the company's investment value and reputation in the capital market.
