Recently, BYD's Marco Polo New Silk Road initiative entered Uzbekistan, revitalizing the ancient trade route with cutting-edge fast-charging technology and writing a new chapter in East-West cultural exchange and industrial cooperation.

The Uzbekistan segment of the journey commenced in Nukus, traversing eastward through the heart of Central Asia, passing through the historic Silk Road cities of Khiva, Bukhara, and Samarkand, before culminating in the capital, Tashkent, effectively connecting the nation's millennia-old cultural landmarks.

Throughout the expedition, BYD focused on addressing Silk Road travel needs by establishing dedicated fast-charging stations in the four key ancient cities: Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent. With its comprehensive charging network and efficient, stable fast-charging technology, the company aims to solve cross-border long-distance travel charging challenges, injecting green energy into transnational transit across Central Asia. The pioneering spirit of ancient Silk Road merchants is being renewed through the power of new energy technology, ushering in a modern, low-carbon transformation for the historic route.

Notably, on the evening of July 9th local time, the "Silk Road Night" themed event was grandly launched at the showroom of BYD's authorized dealer, BYD Beni Motors, in Samarkand. The Marco Polo delegation was present, with representatives from BYD China and key personnel from the local dealer hosting and engaging in in-depth discussions. Building upon Samarkand's historical legacy as a pivotal Silk Road hub for millennia, the parties reflected on the cooperative origins of mutual benefit and cross-border connectivity from the ancient trade routes. They explored new opportunities for China-Uzbekistan industrial collaboration and brand development in the new energy era, highlighting the responsibility and commitment of Chinese automakers in empowering the Central Asian market through their global expansion. The event concluded with representatives from all three parties signing and taking photos in front of a brand display board, marking a new milestone in BYD's deepening presence and regional cooperation in Central Asia.

Under the glittering night sky, the celebration began. The "BYD × Silk Road Night" music gala warmly commenced, featuring a series of song and dance performances that blended local Central Asian flavors with modern trends. The venue was alive with interwoven lights and a vibrant atmosphere. The fusion of traditional cultural elements with the appeal of new energy technology presented guests with a Silk Road feast that transcended cultures and connected past and present, allowing the inclusivity and vitality of the ancient route to shine once more.

BYD's new energy vehicles were launched in Uzbekistan in March 2023. In 2024, the joint venture factory between BYD and the local Uzbek automaker UzAuto officially commenced production in the Jizzakh region. Now, BYD is establishing fast-charging stations in Uzbekistan, providing Central Asia with rapid new energy replenishment solutions.

From the distant echoes of camel bells in Khiva to the brilliant city lights of Samarkand and the burgeoning technological vitality of Tashkent, BYD is using green technology as its pen and the cross-border journey as its canvas, endowing the ancient Silk Road with a new era of low-carbon, intelligent, and efficient significance. The successful conclusion of the Uzbekistan leg is not only a splendid chapter in BYD's Marco Polo Silk Road tour but also a testament to the brand's steadfast strategy of deepening its presence in the Central Asian market and advancing high-quality global expansion. Moving forward with purpose, the journey continues. After bidding farewell to Uzbekistan, the BYD Marco Polo Road convoy will enter Kazakhstan, ultimately making its way into China. Looking ahead, BYD will continue to leverage its core technologies and global footprint to deepen its presence in overseas markets and strengthen international industrial cooperation. The company aims to connect the world with the power of green mobility, continuously writing a new chapter of Silk Road collaboration and civilizational exchange in the new energy era.
