Tesla Owner Reports Snapped Accelerator Pedal, Customer Service Says Strength Meets All Global Regulatory Standards

A female Tesla owner in Taiwan reportedly snapped her accelerator pedal clean off with a single press while rushing home during a typhoon, according to recent reports.

She shared photos on social media to warn other drivers to be careful, drawing widespread attention.

She also wrote, "If any of you are fellow Tesla owners, raise your hand — I'd like to know why it broke when I pressed it."

As of press time, Tesla Motors (TSLA) had not issued an official response to the matter.

Tesla Motors (TSLA) customer service told Sina Tech that the pedal's strength was designed from the outset to meet regulatory standards across all global markets, and that it has undergone rigorous testing under extreme cold, extreme heat, high humidity and various force angles, with actual results far exceeding regulatory requirements, so customers can use it with confidence.
