Gree CMO Confronts Hisense Executive Again: How Dare You Plagiarize "Genuine Copper Material" When Only Stating Copper Usage in Two Components?

Deep News04-16

On April 16, Gree's Chief Marketing Officer Zhu Lei published four consecutive posts late yesterday evening, strongly criticizing a Hisense executive and addressing public concerns. This came after Hisense executives refuted claims that Hisense's "genuine copper material" marketing campaign plagiarized Gree's creative concept.

Zhu Lei stated that Gree insists on using "genuine copper material" to maintain a baseline standard for consumers. If Gree did not adhere to this practice, he warned, the market could quickly be flooded with products using aluminum instead. Genuine copper material means that both the evaporator and condenser use copper tubes, and that the motor windings for both the fan and compressor are made of copper.

Referring to a "copper-containing" certificate released by Hisense, Zhu Lei commented: "The certificate clearly states that only the two heat exchangers and connecting tubes use copper tubes. It does not specify whether the motor windings in Hisense air conditioners' two key components are made of copper, aluminum, or a combination of both. If not all parts use copper, how can Director Yang have the nerve to plagiarize Gree’s claim of 'genuine copper material'?"

Zhu Lei added pointedly: "Hisense is a respected classic domestic brand. It’s hard to believe that someone within the company would stoop to stealing even a single word."
