Japan's Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki has stated that it is crucial to clarify the government's legal position, which is that specific monetary policy decisions should be made by the Bank of Japan.
Speaking during a parliamentary session, Suzuki indicated that the government aims to achieve fiscal sustainability by steadily reducing the debt-to-GDP ratio, while closely monitoring market movements and economic conditions.
When asked about market reactions to a draft of the economic and fiscal policy guidelines, Suzuki noted that the market response was based on the draft document and not the final version.
