The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has intensified sharply. According to the latest reports, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated on the 14th that Russian air defense forces shot down 65 Ukrainian drones heading towards Moscow that day. As reported by Russia's TASS news agency, this marks one of the largest drone attacks on Moscow this year. Simultaneously, Russia has continued to launch large-scale assaults. Ukraine's Energy Ministry and Ukrenergo, the national power company, jointly announced on the 14th that Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure in the early hours, causing power outages in multiple regions.

Regarding the large-scale drone attack on Moscow, a report from Xinhua News Agency on March 15 cited messages posted on social media by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin on the 14th, indicating that Russian air defense units had shot down 65 Ukrainian drones bound for Moscow that day. Sobyanin began posting updates about downing Ukrainian drones from the afternoon onwards, with the total reaching 65 by nearly midnight.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the evening of the 14th that between 11:00 and 21:00, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 280 Ukrainian drones over various Russian territories, 47 of which were en route to Moscow. The daily combat report from the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff did not mention this incident.

Integrated reports from the Russian Defense Ministry and regional rescue headquarters indicated that from the night of the 13th to the morning of the 14th, multiple areas including Krasnodar Krai and Belgorod Oblast in southwestern Russia were attacked by Ukrainian drones, with Russian air defenses destroying over 120 drones. The rescue headquarters in Krasnodar Krai stated on the 14th that the port of Kavkaz on the eastern shore of the Kerch Strait was attacked by Ukrainian drones, resulting in at least three injuries, damage to one engineering vessel, and a fire in one berth area, which has since been extinguished.

The rescue headquarters in Belgorod Oblast reported on the same day that a total of 211 drones attacked several villages in the region, causing at least one death and nine injuries. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that between 20:00 on the 13th and 11:00 on the 14th, Russian air defense forces shot down 124 Ukrainian drones over southwestern Russia and adjacent waters. Additionally, Russian forces used "Geranium" drones to destroy several sites in the town of Peremoha, Sumy Oblast, Ukraine, used for launching and storing long-range drones.

On March 14, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense announced via social media that it had conducted a special operation, completely disabling the Russian railway ferry "Slavyanin" and causing damage to the vessel "Avangard." The statement noted that both ships were core transport carriers for the Russian military's Kerch crossing, handling critical logistical transport tasks along the Kerch Strait. Russia has not yet responded to these claims.

Since January this year, representatives from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine have held three rounds of talks in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and Geneva, Switzerland, discussing issues such as the disengagement of Russian and Ukrainian forces, ceasefire monitoring mechanisms, and the establishment of a coordination center. However, key territorial disputes remain unresolved. Meanwhile, ground engagements and long-range strikes between the two sides continue.

Regarding the attack on Ukrainian energy facilities on the 14th, a joint statement from Ukraine's Energy Ministry and Ukrenergo reported that Russia launched a large-scale assault on Ukraine's energy infrastructure in the early hours, causing power outages in multiple regions. The statement highlighted that the attacks focused on energy facilities in Kyiv city and Kyiv Oblast. Additionally, ongoing shelling along frontline areas damaged energy infrastructure in other locations. By the morning of the 14th, power outages affected users in seven areas, including Kyiv city, Kyiv Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Cherkasy Oblast, and Kirovohrad Oblast. Due to the attack, Ukrenergo was forced to temporarily adjust the duration and scope of planned power restrictions for the day.

Attention is now focused on developments regarding the next round of Russia-Ukraine negotiations. Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated on the 13th that Russia hopes to continue trilateral talks with the US and Ukraine on the Ukrainian issue, but no specific date for a new round has been set. During a regular press briefing, Peskov mentioned that Russia is in contact with the US regarding Ukraine and is not concerned that the situation in Iran would divert US attention from Ukraine. He also emphasized that Russia highly values the efforts made by the US in resolving the Ukrainian crisis.

On the 14th, Peskov stated that Russian oil remains indispensable to the global energy industry, and after the US eased sanctions, many buyers are interested in purchasing Russian oil. He noted that Russian oil entering the international market helps stabilize it, saying, "In an attempt to stabilize the global energy market, the US side granted a one-month sanctions waiver. On this point, Russian and American interests align."

The US Treasury Department announced on the 12th that it would temporarily ease sanctions on certain Russian oil transactions. According to Russian sources, the governments of Thailand and Sri Lanka have previously expressed intentions to purchase Russian oil.

At a press conference in Paris on the 13th, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the US decision to partially ease sanctions on Russian oil could provide Russia with approximately $10 billion in war funding. Zelenskyy also mentioned that several countries have requested Ukraine send experts to the Middle East. He previously stated that Ukraine had dispatched interceptor drones and expert teams to a US military base in Jordan to assist in defending against drone threats. He indicated that the US made the assistance request to Kyiv on March 5, and the Ukrainian team departed for the Middle East on the 6th.
