IDEX Corp’s stock surged 5.47% in pre-market trading, following the release of its strong second-quarter results which handily beat analyst expectations and prompted the company to raise its full-year financial guidance.
The engineered products manufacturer reported record quarterly revenue of $920.6 million, a 6% increase year-over-year, surpassing the consensus estimate of $905.4 million. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $2.32, significantly above the $2.11 analysts had forecast. This performance was driven by robust demand in key markets, including AI data centers, semiconductors, space, and defense, with the company noting record orders of over $1 billion, up 29% on a reported basis.
Buoyed by the strong quarter and positive market outlook, IDEX raised its full-year 2026 guidance. The company now expects organic sales growth of 5% to 6%, up from its previous forecast of 3% to 4%, and projects adjusted diluted EPS in the range of $8.70 to $8.85, compared to the prior $8.35 to $8.55. The third-quarter adjusted EPS outlook of $2.20 to $2.25 also exceeded the market consensus of $2.19, further reinforcing investor confidence.
