Base Blockchain Now Hosts Coinbase Tokenized Equities With Chainlink Oracle Integration

Stock News08:35

Coinbase Global, Inc. (COIN.US) has officially deployed its tokenized equity product on the Base network, integrating Chainlink technology to deliver price data support for decentralized finance applications.

The offering, launched on Monday, covers major tech names including NVIDIA (NVDA.US), Apple (AAPL.US), Meta (META.US), and Alphabet (GOOGL.US), all issued as B20 tokens on Coinbase's layer-2 blockchain Base.

According to Woofun AI's compiled data, each token represents direct ownership of the underlying stock held by Alpaca, a broker and custodian regulated by Abu Dhabi's global market authority. Eligible non-U.S. users can hold and trade these assets around the clock.

These tokenized equities can be integrated into lending markets, decentralized exchanges, and structured products. For instance, NVIDIA tokens can serve as collateral for loans on Aave, while Apple tokens can be supplied to decentralized exchange liquidity pools.

Additional Coinbase tokenized stocks are expected to launch on Base over the coming weeks, expanding the current lineup.

At the macro level, data from RWA.xyz indicates the total value of the tokenized stock market has reached $2.48 billion, up 5.2% over the past 30 days. Monthly transfer volumes have climbed to $27.28 billion, while the number of holders has surpassed 2.1 million.

This convergence of traditional assets with DeFi infrastructure is accelerating the transformation of global capital flows, reshaping how investors access and trade conventional financial instruments.
