China Everbright Water Limited (1857.HK, U9E) released an update regarding the qualifications of its joint company secretary. The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK) had earlier granted a three-year waiver to allow the appointment of Ms. Kwan Yun Fui as a joint company secretary. Recently, upon the expiry of the waiver period, the SEHK confirmed Ms. Kwan’s eligibility to serve as company secretary under Rule 3.28 of the SEHK Listing Rules without requiring a further waiver.

Although Ms. Kwan has met the requirements under the SEHK Listing Rules, the company will continue to employ two joint company secretaries. This arrangement is aimed at maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance, given the dual listing in Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as the China-focused business operations of the group.
