Bitcoin's Short-Term Defensive Demand Shows Clear Cooling Trend

Data from July 28 shows the put-to-call ratio in the Bitcoin options market has dropped from approximately 0.76 at the end of June to around 0.52. This indicates traders are reducing short-term downside protection, and overall positioning has become less defensive as key interest rate events approach.

The latest information reflects a recalibration between price and fundamentals, though a single factor is not yet sufficient to establish a stable direction. The one-week tenor downside skew is notably lower than in medium- and long-term contracts, while the implied volatility curve continues to slope upward for longer maturities.

This structure suggests the market expects relatively mild near-term volatility, while still being willing to pay a premium for protection against uncertainty further out in the year. Current changes are more suitable for observation as a phased signal, and their persistence should be judged in conjunction with subsequent data.

From a transmission mechanism perspective, there is a mutual feedback loop between price, capital flows, and expectations. When trading volume expands and multiple indicators move in the same direction, trend signals tend to be more reliable. If price moves ahead of capital inflows without sufficient support, the market may continue to trade in a range.

On the risk side, attention should still be paid to liquidity, the US dollar, bond yields, and repricing following macroeconomic data releases. As important events approach, position adjustments may amplify intraday volatility, so it is important to distinguish between short-term sentiment shifts and medium-term fundamental trends.

Looking ahead, whether key price levels can receive sustained volume confirmation will determine the market's direction. At the same time, tracking whether capital flows, inventory, or supply-demand data form a continuous pattern of evidence will be critical. Maintaining a neutral observation stance is more valuable than chasing single-day fluctuations.
