When "international consumption" meets an "urban core engine," Beijing CBD has once again delivered outstanding results! The findings of the "2025 Forbes China CBD International Consumption Competitiveness Ranking" have been announced, with Beijing CBD securing the top national position for the third year in a row.

The ranking highlights Beijing CBD's strengths in high internationalization and vibrant commercial consumption. In both the 2023 and 2024 Forbes CBD competitiveness rankings, Beijing CBD claimed first place. Furthermore, the recently released "2025 Global CBD Attractiveness Report" ranked Beijing CBD as China’s No. 1, Asia’s No. 2, and the world’s sixth—marking a new global high.

As a core landmark of urban economic and commercial activity, CBDs serve as vital hubs reflecting a city’s prosperity and international appeal. In 2025, Forbes China upgraded its evaluation system, incorporating five key dimensions: market vibrancy, payment convenience, international appeal, resource concentration, and policy leadership. This year’s ranking also introduced three subcategories: "Benchmark Consumer Brands," "Emerging Consumer Brands," and "Service Innovation Brands," strengthening ties between premium brands and CBD development. After comprehensive assessment, Beijing CBD emerged as the clear leader.

Beyond its reputation as a business district, Beijing CBD has transformed into a dynamic consumption hub blending trendsetting experiences with premium offerings. Currently, the area is developing the "CBD × Sanlitun International Consumption Zone," advancing the creation of a trillion-yuan-scale international commercial district. It hosts nearly 60% of Beijing’s Michelin and Black Pearl restaurants and about 40% of its specialty coffee shops.

To enhance international visitor experiences, Beijing CBD has achieved full coverage of foreign-card POS systems in major shopping centers, with China World Mall becoming one of Beijing’s first centralized tax-refund points. This year, the CBD also launched a "temporary pedestrian street," driving new trends through diverse events. From June to October, exclusive promotions and vouchers boosted foot traffic and sales in surrounding businesses by over 20%.

This success underscores Beijing CBD’s commitment to cultivating an international consumption ecosystem, reflecting the city’s prosperity and openness. Moving forward, the district promises even more innovative consumption experiences—stay tuned for the next wave of surprises from Beijing CBD!
