In Shou'an Town, Wenjiang, Chengdu, stands the Chen Family Courtyard, often hailed as a grand showcase of Western Sichuan residential architecture. This Qing Dynasty estate was constructed over eight years by Hanlin scholar Chen Zongdian and his son. It represents a large-scale, composite residential complex from the Qing era and stands as one of the largest and best-preserved private residential structures remaining on the Western Sichuan plain.
