Apple Regains Top Spot as World's Most Valuable Company, Surpassing NVIDIA in Early Friday Trading

Deep News07-17 22:01

In early trading on Friday, Apple Inc. surpassed NVIDIA Corporation to become the world's most valuable company by market capitalization.

The share price of Apple held steady, with its latest market value reaching $4.88 trillion. In contrast, NVIDIA's stock price fell by 3.5%, bringing its market capitalization to approximately $4.86 trillion.

This shift in ranking highlights that investor focus is broadening beyond companies like NVIDIA, which have been the most direct beneficiaries of the artificial intelligence boom. NVIDIA had held the top position for nearly a year, making this the first time Apple has reclaimed the number one spot since April of last year.

Adding to the positive sentiment, HSBC upgraded its rating on Apple to Buy on Friday, with analysts stating the company is "now at an operational inflection point."
