Film Icon Stephen Chow Invests in Suzhou's Xiangcheng District Company

Deep News06-03

Film industry legend Stephen Chow, through his company Bingo Group, has completed a strategic investment in Suzhou Interactive Star Network Technology Co., Ltd., a company based in Xiangcheng District. The two parties will engage in deep collaboration across AI-generated series, interactive video games, live-action film and television, and full-chain IP operations. This partnership aims to combine top-tier creativity, cutting-edge technology, and a massive IP library to establish a new benchmark for China's digital content industry.

Stephen Chow is a highly influential figure in Chinese cinema, having created classics such as "Flirting Scholar," "Hail the Judge," and "A Chinese Odyssey" that have entertained and influenced generations of viewers. His Bingo Group is an entertainment technology company listed on the Hong Kong Growth Enterprise Market, with years of experience in IP copyright operations and film content creation.

Suzhou Interactive Star Network Technology Co., Ltd.

Suzhou Interactive Star Network Technology Co., Ltd. established itself in Xiangcheng in April 2024. The company focuses on the fields of AI-generated series and interactive video games. Adhering to a core "Interactive+" strategy, it concentrates on four main business areas: AI-generated comic series/AI-simulated live-action series, interactive video games, live-action short and medium-length series, and IP derivative products. This approach builds an innovative industrial system integrating film, gaming, AI technology, and immersive interactive experiences.

This strategic investment is not Bingo Group's first collaboration with a Xiangcheng-based company. Previously, Bingo Group partnered with Wanwei Cat Animation to co-develop several animated films based on classic IPs. The investment in Interactive Star represents high recognition of the company's technical capabilities, IP portfolio, and business model.

Suzhou Interactive Star holds full copyrights to over 20 top-tier IPs and copyrights to more than 100 well-known IPs. Its portfolio includes popular titles such as "The Monkey King," "Night Without Borders," and "Infinite World," along with licenses for numerous classic film and television IPs. This provides a solid IP foundation for industrialized, high-quality content production. Currently, Interactive Star's core businesses, including AI series and interactive games, are entering a phase of scaled implementation and quality-focused advancement. In essence, acquiring Interactive Star means gaining access to a "library of hit-making material."

Located in the Suzhou Film & Television Industrial Park, Interactive Star has access to industry resources such as a leading 3,000-square-meter optical motion capture virtual production base. The company has developed its own film-grade multi-camera motion capture system. Using an innovative "live-action motion capture + AI" approach, it enables the creation of digital assets that can be captured once and reused indefinitely, building a core technical barrier for the scaled, high-quality production of AI-generated series.

Furthermore, the company has established deep connections with two major producers, Wanwei Cat Animation and Golden Media, forming a closed-loop, full-industry-chain capability encompassing "animation assets + live-action filming + high-quality scriptwriting + full-channel distribution." This allows for the high-quality transformation of content from the source IP to the final audience entirely in-house.

Yang Weikang, Senior Advisor at Bingo Group, stated: "Interactive Star possesses rich IP resources and industry experience, which will synergistically support our company's business in AI content creation, IP derivation, and adaptation. In the future market for new content driven by AI, creativity and IP operation will be key factors. We believe Interactive Star will become a leading company in the 'AI + IP' field."

Following the implementation of this strategic cooperation, Bingo Group and Interactive Star will collaborate deeply on content creation and technological innovation. They will focus on the core track of AI-generated series, jointly producing high-quality AI comic series and AI-simulated live-action series to continuously push the boundaries of quality in AI content creation. The two sides will also achieve deep synergy in interactive video games, live-action film and television, and IP derivatives. By integrating Bingo Group's top-tier creativity with Interactive Star's mature technology, massive IP reserves, and production and distribution system, they aim to maximize the core value of both classic and innovative IPs.

The deep integration of top-tier IPs, quality capital, and Xiangcheng's industrial ecosystem is set to accelerate the development of the cultural industry and inject robust momentum into the region's high-quality growth. In recent years, Xiangcheng District has systematically developed its digital cultural industry with a "long-termism" approach, attracting over 160 film, television, and animation companies. For instance, Suzhou Red Whale Visual participated in creating a significant amount of special effects for the hit animated film "Ne Zha: The Devil's Child Descends," while Huahuang Film provided post-production services for works like "My Himalayas." To date, companies in Xiangcheng have produced over 300 well-known works, with the district's film and television influence leaving an increasingly prominent mark on the big screen.

This strategic investment also represents a "key move" by Xiangcheng's industry to seize the window of opportunity in AI content production. Xiangcheng will continue to optimize its business environment, cultivate a high-quality digital cultural ecosystem, promote the film, television, and animation industries towards a more positive and sustainable new stage of development, and fully support the journey of original Chinese IPs to the global market, enabling quality Chinese content to reach audiences worldwide.
