Investors continued to pour into emerging market equity and bond exchange-traded funds (ETFs) last week. This marks the 15th consecutive week of capital inflows for such ETFs.
Data compiled by Bloomberg show that in the week ending January 30, US-listed emerging market ETFs, which invest across multiple emerging markets or in specific countries, collectively attracted $6.5 billion in inflows, compared to $6.85 billion the previous week. Year-to-date, the total inflow has reached $24.9 billion.
Equity ETFs saw inflows of $6.06 billion.
Bond ETFs attracted inflows of $438.8 million.
Total assets under management increased from $474.5 billion to $484.7 billion.
The MSCI Emerging Markets Index rose 1.8% last week to 1,528.09 points.
