Differentiated Competitive Advantages Emerge as Longi Green Energy Releases Performance Data for "Three-Protection" BC Components

Deep News09-26

On the afternoon of September 26, Longi Green Energy Technology Co.,Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Longi Green Energy") released performance data for its BC component Longi Hi-MO X10, which features "fire prevention," "shading prevention," and "dust prevention" functions.

According to data from the National Solar Photovoltaic Product Quality Inspection and Testing Center, in terms of fire prevention performance against hot spots, under identical conditions (1000W irradiation light source, high parallel resistance), Longi Green Energy's BC "three-protection" components outperformed TOPCon components. In shading prevention performance, under partial shading conditions such as 50% shading of a single battery (low parallel resistance), the "three-protection" components showed an average power loss of 10.15%, while TOPCon components showed an average power loss of 36.48%, indicating significantly lower power loss for the "three-protection" components compared to TOPCon components. In dust prevention performance, under identical indoor conditions, the "three-protection" components showed an average power loss rate of 1.78%, lower than the 2.51% for TOPCon components.

Data from Beijing Jianheng Certification Center shows that throughout the entire verification cycle, Longi Green Energy's HPBC2.0 components generated 50.92% higher power per watt than TOPCon components under static shading conditions. Specifically, HPBC2.0 components achieved the highest power generation gains compared to TOPCon components when irradiance was between 700W/m² and 800W/m² or during 4-5 PM, at 52.12% and 58.39% respectively.

These sets of data not only verify the advantages of BC "three-protection" components but also highlight the advantages of Longi Green Energy's differentiated competitive strategy.

"Scenario-based and differentiated approaches are product strategies that Longi Green Energy will consistently adhere to," Niu Yanyan, President of Longi Green Energy's Distributed Business China Region, stated.

"Homogeneous competition is also a prominent issue currently existing in the photovoltaic industry. Under the current circumstances of intensified industry competition, the core of how enterprises can gain advantages should still focus on technological innovation and their own differentiation," said Qu Fang, Investment Advisor at Wanlian Securities Co., Ltd. Currently, as "anti-involution" continues to advance, the photovoltaic industry is gradually welcoming a turnaround, and products with competitive advantages are expected to gain the upper hand.

It is reported that Longi Hi-MO X10, as the world's first photovoltaic component simultaneously equipped with three protection functions, has the "three-protection" functionality as its core selling point. Among the "three-protection" functions, fire prevention is considered a common requirement for industrial and commercial distributed and even all photovoltaic power station scenarios. The "fire prevention" function serves to ensure asset safety, while "shading prevention" and "dust prevention" functions can increase power station revenue.

Besides safety issues, downstream investors are increasingly meticulous about power station revenue calculations. "For distributed photovoltaics, rooftop resources are limited, so how to install more photovoltaic components on limited rooftop area has become the primary demand point for distributed photovoltaics today," Qu Fang stated. Whether it's BC technology, TOPCon technology, or HJT technology, whoever can bring greater revenue will receive more market favor.

"Longi Green Energy's component products are currently the most expensive in the industry, but Longi Green Energy's distributed component shipments have consistently remained at the industry's top tier," Niu Yanyan stated. Currently, "three-protection" components account for over 50% of the company's shipments. In China's industrial and commercial distributed photovoltaic market shipment volume, Longi Green Energy's components have consistently maintained the crown of first place in shipments.

From the latest 2025 interim report, Longi Green Energy has not only established a differentiated innovation path for BC technology but has also comprehensively enhanced BC product performance, securing the initiative in value competition. Currently, HPBC2.0 battery mass production yield rate exceeds 97%. Additionally, the company's BC product sales proportion increases significantly each quarter, driving up average gross margin levels.

"In the future, Longi Green Energy will continue to adhere to continuous technological innovation and in-depth scenario insights to create more and better products and solutions," Niu Yanyan stated.

Regarding future development, Longi Green Energy Chairman Zhong Baoshen has previously stated that the company will adhere to two "leading" positions: first is product leadership, maintaining technological manufacturing excellence and continuously advancing new technology R&D and mass production; second is customer value leadership, adhering to multi-scenario integration, creating multi-scenario integrated products and solutions for customers, and adhering to source-network-load-storage integration to provide customers with more convenient green power solutions.

"The photovoltaic industry must transition from 'quantity' growth to 'quality' breakthroughs, from scale expansion to value competition," Qu Fang believes. In this process, enterprises with differentiated technological advantages and innovative concepts are expected to be the first to navigate through the industry's "involution" cycle.
