The CR450 technology innovation project, representing the world's fastest high-speed rail, was showcased at the China Pavilion during the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE). Visitors could virtually "step inside" the train through VR technology, experiencing the next-generation high-speed EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) in an immersive setting.
According to China State Railway Group, the CR450 prototype has undergone type tests and operational assessments on multiple routes, including the Chongqing-Qianjiang, Wuhan-Yichang, Shenyang-Baishan, and Shanghai-Wuhan-Chengdu high-speed rail lines. During testing, the train set a new record with a single-unit speed of 453 km/h and a relative passing speed of 896 km/h.
The company plans to conduct comprehensive operational tests for the CR450 on the Chengdu-Chongqing Central Line in 2026, aiming to bring it into commercial service as soon as possible.
