Stock Track | Oklo Inc. Soars 5% in Pre-market as Small Nuclear Reactor Achieves Criticality Milestone

Stock Track08-07 17:22

Oklo Inc. shares surged 5% in pre-market trading on Friday, reflecting heightened investor optimism after the company announced a major technical achievement for its advanced nuclear reactor technology.

The U.S. Department of Energy confirmed that Oklo's small nuclear reactor has reached "criticality" status, a crucial step toward commercializing its next-generation nuclear energy solutions. This milestone follows the startup authorization and documented safety analysis approval the company’s Groves Isotope Test Reactor received in July, when the company had explicitly targeted first criticality as a near-term goal.

Investors are also looking ahead to the company’s quarterly earnings report, scheduled for later today. While market consensus projects an adjusted loss per share of $0.17 and revenue of roughly $126,300, the criticality achievement provides a strong positive catalyst that overshadows near-term financial expectations.
