The main construction phase of the Henan Tang River Navigation Project, undertaken by CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., has been fully completed. Upon the project's finalization, Nanyang will establish a crucial "river-to-sea" waterway corridor.

The project's key components include a 66-kilometer Class IV navigation channel, the Shuitaizi hub, the Guotan Tang River Bridge, and the Guotan port area. The construction involved the prefabrication of over 1,000 bridge beams.

The Shuitaizi ship lock is designed to Class IV channel standards, capable of accommodating vessels up to 500 tons. Confronting challenges from the flood season, the project team implemented meticulous construction practices. They utilized BIM technology for simulations and on-site verification to ensure precise sealing of the lock gates. Following installation, divers were deployed for underwater inspections of the seal integrity, with real-time video feedback via helmet-mounted camera systems, enabling effective human-machine collaboration. This process led to the successful hoisting and commissioning of all sluice gates, and the Shuitaizi hub is now ready for water impoundment.

For the installation of the miter gates at the ship lock, the team employed high-precision positioning and comprehensive measurement controls, limiting installation deviations to within 0.5 millimeters. Welders worked diligently under high temperatures to maintain strict welding quality, which was subsequently verified through non-destructive testing to ensure defect-free results.

The completion of the Shuitaizi hub's main structure signifies that the project's equipment installation is finished and the facility is prepared for navigation operations. Once fully operational, the project is expected to significantly enhance the integrated logistics and transportation network in northern Hubei and southwestern Henan, effectively reducing regional logistics costs. It will also provide substantial impetus for the in-depth development of resources along the route and foster high-quality economic and social growth in the area.
