On the morning of October 28, TVB announced the passing of Hui Siu-Hung, who peacefully departed in the early hours due to multiple organ failure caused by cancer. He was 76 years old, just seven days shy of his 77th birthday. Born on November 4, 1948, in Hong Kong, Hui moved to Guangzhou with his father at the age of one for business. It wasn't until 1958 that he returned to Hong Kong with his family.
According to public reports, Hui came from a distinguished lineage—his ancestor was Xu Baiting, one of the four major salt merchants in Chinese history, and his great-grandfather was Xu Yingkui, a high-ranking official under Empress Dowager Cixi. His aunt was Xu Guangping, the wife of renowned modern Chinese writer Lu Xun. Hui once humorously remarked, "Compared to them, I'm just a withered branch and a beggar in the family—far from their stature."
It has been revealed that Hui had one more unreleased drama, *Goddess of Justice*, in which he co-starred again with Charmaine Sheh.
