Starting December 9, under the guidance of local human resources and social security departments, Meituan has opened more than 600 social insurance consultation windows at rider hubs and stations in dozens of cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Jinzhou, Ningbo, Hangzhou, and Xiangtan. These windows provide detailed explanations on social insurance payment procedures and platform subsidy ratios for riders.
"Eligible riders only need to pay for pension insurance, and they can receive platform subsidies as early as the first week of the following month," said a Meituan representative. The company's social insurance subsidy program officially expanded nationwide in November, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of the social insurance plan.
Data shows that since 2022, under the guidance of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Meituan has actively promoted new occupational injury insurance pilots, expanding coverage to 17 provinces and cities by July this year. As of October, the company has contributed a total of 2.3 billion yuan in full payments for riders, with approximately 16 million riders enrolled in the program.
