Da Sen Holdings Group Limited has published its ninth Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, covering the 12 months ended 31 March 2026. The plywood maker and lessor highlighted a sharp reduction in resource consumption and emissions as it maintained only minimal-scale plywood production while pivoting to a strategic alliance with a Jiangmen factory for higher-margin interior decoration materials and furniture.
Key environmental metrics
• Total greenhouse-gas emissions fell 46.5% to 46.78 tCO2e, driven mainly by a scale-down of core plywood operations. Scope 1 emissions dropped to 0.10 tCO2e and Scope 2 to 46.54 tCO2e.
• Energy use halved to 75.53 MWh, translating to 3.60 MWh per employee.
• Water consumption plunged to 125.20 tonnes from 3,322 tonnes a year earlier; wastewater discharge declined proportionally to 85.60 tonnes.
• Air-pollutant output was negligible: SO₂ at 0.001 kg, NOx at 0.04 kg and particulate matter at 0.003 kg. No hazardous waste was generated.
Targets and compliance
Da Sen set 2030 targets to cut the intensities of greenhouse-gas emissions, energy use and water consumption by 5% from a 2024 baseline. The company has aligned its decarbonisation timetable with China’s “carbon-peaking by 2030” goal and plans to phase out high-energy-consumption equipment while upgrading production lines. All operations complied with relevant PRC environmental laws; no material breaches were reported.
Governance and risk management
An ESG Taskforce, overseen by the Board, reports annually on risk assessment and performance. Climate-related scenario analysis based on IPCC and NGFS pathways identified medium-term physical risks—such as extreme weather potentially disrupting supply chains—and transition risks tied to tighter carbon policies. Mitigation measures include emergency response plans, insurance coverage, equipment upgrades and ongoing monitoring.
Social performance
• Workforce: 21 full-time employees (81% male, 19% female) with a 38% overall turnover rate.
• Workplace safety: zero work-related injuries or fatalities for the third consecutive year.
• Community: No community programmes were undertaken during the period, but future engagement is planned.
Supply chain and product responsibility
The group worked with four PRC-based suppliers, focusing on service utilities due to the scaled-down production. Product quality complies with national standard GB/T9846-2004 and international formaldehyde limits (Japan F4 Stars, CARB P2). No product recalls or significant customer complaints occurred, and personal-data safeguards met Hong Kong and PRC privacy laws.
Anti-corruption and compliance
No cases of bribery, fraud or money-laundering were recorded. Preventive measures include whistle-blowing hotlines, annual training, and oversight by a dedicated supervisory office.
Strategic outlook
While controlling costs and limiting low-margin plywood orders, Da Sen Holdings intends to modernise its Heze production base post-acquisition of Chance Rich International Trading Limited to manufacture higher-profit wood products, while leveraging the Jiangmen alliance for new revenue streams.
