Village-Level Campaigns Promote Online Ethics and Safety Awareness

Deep News05-21

To vigorously promote core socialist values and strengthen rural online civilization defenses, effectively enhancing villagers' internet literacy and self-protection capabilities, Tianzhuang Town in Huantai County recently conducted a series of concentrated "Learning with Children, Civility in Action" online civilization and ethics awareness campaigns across villages. Through diverse promotional formats, the activities conveyed the concept of civilized internet use, striving to safeguard public cybersecurity.

During the events, each village formed advocacy teams comprising village committee members and volunteers from the New Era Civilization Practice. Using the New Era Civilization Practice Stations as core venues, the teams focused on topics such as online civility, cybersecurity, anti-fraud measures, and combating online rumors. They explained cybersecurity knowledge and relevant laws and regulations in accessible, easy-to-understand language. Additionally, volunteers distributed informational brochures to villagers to broaden the reach of the campaign.

Targeting key groups such as elderly individuals with weaker information discernment and youths susceptible to negative online influences, volunteers emphasized techniques for preventing online scams and methods for protecting personal information. They provided hands-on guidance to elderly residents on identifying suspicious links and fake customer service, and reminded young people to steer clear of cyberbullying and harmful short videos, effectively reinforcing cybersecurity protection barriers for various demographics.

This initiative successfully bridged the "last mile" in online civilization awareness, not only equipping villagers with practical cybersecurity knowledge but also fostering a strong rural atmosphere of "everyone learning civility, everyone upholding civility, and everyone protecting safety" throughout the town. Moving forward, Tianzhuang Town will continue to regularly conduct such awareness activities, embedding the principles of online civilization deeply into the rural landscape, thereby laying a solid foundation for building a safe, civilized, and harmonious village environment.
