During a recent conference focused on advancing the aerospace and aviation industrial cluster in Harbin, the Harbin Aerospace and Aviation Industry Alliance was officially inaugurated.
The city of Harbin is recognized as a significant cradle of China's aerospace and aviation industry, characterized by a solid industrial foundation, robust leading enterprises, rich educational and scientific resources, and a comprehensive supporting ecosystem.
The region hosts a diverse range of market entities spanning aircraft systems integration, precision intelligent manufacturing, testing and inspection, commercial spaceflight, and the low-altitude economy.
It possesses full industrial chain capabilities encompassing the development and manufacturing of aircraft, propulsion systems, specialized materials, core components, satellite R&D and production, as well as application services, making it one of China's cities with the most complete aerospace industry ecosystem.
To fully implement the national strategies for building a strong aviation and aerospace nation, concentrate efforts on cultivating and expanding new quality productive forces, and promote the cluster-based, systematic, and ecological upgrading of the industry, higher education institutions, enterprises across the industrial chain, financial institutions, scientific research and innovation platforms, and professional service entities jointly initiated the establishment of this alliance.
The initial cohort comprises 127 member units, including 3 leading chain enterprises, 78 R&D and manufacturing firms, 2 application scenario companies, 15 universities and research institutes, 14 comprehensive service agencies, 14 financial and investment units, and 1 industry promotion organization.
The alliance will concentrate on the coordinated development of the entire aerospace industrial chain, uniting member units to tackle core and common technologies in critical materials, overall design, manufacturing processes, and testing.
It will co-establish joint R&D platforms, innovation carriers, and public service platforms, actively participate in the formulation and revision of industry and group standards, integrate high-quality resources from across the industrial chain, and share market resources and channel networks.
Members will collaboratively deepen efforts in key strategic areas such as large aircraft, commercial spaceflight, general aviation, the low-altitude economy, aero-engines, drones, and high-end aviation equipment.
The alliance aims to serve supporting markets like high-end equipment and civil general aviation, driving Harbin's aerospace industry to overcome developmental bottlenecks, form cohesive industrial chains, and achieve high-quality, leapfrog development.
Guided by a vision to be based in Harbin, serve Heilongjiang Province, radiate across the nation, and connect globally, the alliance will adhere to development principles of government guidance, market leadership, and collaborative win-win outcomes led by industry frontrunners.
Its core mission involves strengthening, supplementing, and consolidating industrial chains, deepening collaborative innovation, sharing premium resources, and uniting for collective growth.
The alliance will closely align with the national industrial development strategy for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, dovetail with provincial and municipal industrial layouts, and bridge the channels for collaboration between government, industry, academia, research, and application to fully enhance industrial chains, innovation upgrades, and service support systems.
