Total SA Targets Late 2027 for FSO Adiana Installation in Nigerian Waters

Deep News05-12

An executive from Total SA stated on Tuesday that the company expects to install the new Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel Adiana by the end of next year. This move aims to replace an aging facility in Nigerian waters to sustain oil production.

The new vessel is currently undergoing refurbishment and conversion at the port of Weihai in China. It is set to replace the FSO Unity, which has a storage capacity of 2.2 million barrels of crude oil.

Matthieu Bouyer, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Exploration & Production Nigeria, noted in a LinkedIn post that the project will help maintain offshore production for decades and extend the partnership between Total SA and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

He added that the FSO Adiana has entered the refurbishment phase and is scheduled to sail to its anchorage in Nigerian waters and complete installation by the end of 2027.
