Apple Set to Raise iPhone 18 Pro Pricing by Up to $200

As Apple's autumn launch event draws near, attention has shifted beyond the specifications of the iPhone 18 series and the iPhone Ultra foldable to the topic of pricing, which has become a hot discussion point among consumers.

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple plans to increase the price of the iPhone 18 Pro by $100 to $200, positioning the starting price between $1,199 and $1,299. If this increase is applied to the Chinese market, the domestic starting price for the iPhone 18 Pro could reach approximately 10,600 yuan.

Rising smartphone prices are an unavoidable trend in the market this year. Even though a wave of new devices from the Android camp is expected in September, those prices are also set to climb further, adding to the financial burden on consumers. However, it remains uncertain whether the iPhone's price hike will mirror the increases seen on Mac and iPad models.

Another key point to consider is that, following the established pattern, the iPhone 17 series should see a price drop after the iPhone 18 launch. Yet, given the current supply chain challenges, the iPhone 17 might also experience a price increase in the near future. For users considering an upgrade to the iPhone 17, purchasing sooner rather than later could be the more prudent strategy.
