Changbai Mountain Airport Serves Over 200,000 Passengers During Spring Festival Travel Rush

The 2026 Spring Festival travel period has concluded successfully. Changbai Mountain Airport achieved record-breaking performance across multiple key operational metrics by effectively coordinating safety assurance, capacity optimization, and passenger services. Throughout the travel rush, the airport handled a total of 1,644 flights and welcomed 228,634 passengers. In February alone, the airport managed 1,448 flights and served 206,337 passengers, representing year-on-year increases of 48.09% and 50.83%, respectively. This marked the first time monthly passenger volume exceeded 200,000, ranking it first among regional airports in Northeast China. Daily records were also set, with 57 flights handled on February 14 and 9,065 passengers served on February 23. Since February 2, Changbai Mountain Airport has collaborated with 10 airlines to operate 15 routes connecting 14 destinations. Flights to Shanghai were increased to 10 daily, providing full coverage of both Hongqiao and Pudong hubs. New services were added, including operations by Sichuan Airlines and Shanghai Airlines, and new routes to destinations such as Chongqing, Shanghai Hongqiao, and Changsha, significantly meeting passenger travel demand. The successful completion of the Spring Festival travel rush tasks has laid a solid foundation for high-quality development in annual transportation operations.
