Ambarella's stock price soared 5.22% during pre-market trading on Monday, as the semiconductor company participated in a broad sector rally.
The surge in chip stocks came after NVIDIA announced at Computex Taipei that it will deploy an RTX Spark "superchip" in PCs to challenge Intel's dominance. The new chip, built with MediaTek assistance, combines a microprocessor and GPU and will run Microsoft Windows for Arm, appearing in Dell Technologies and Lenovo laptops and desktops from this autumn.
NVIDIA's announcement boosted sentiment across the semiconductor sector, with multiple chip stocks including ARM Holdings, Micron Technology, Broadcom, and Ambarella all showing significant gains in pre-market trading.
