On January 1, 2026, Mudanjiang City and the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce held a symposium, where both parties conducted in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation and jointly pursuing development.
Attendees included Zhuo Chaolai, President of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Managing Director of Lian Mei Metal (Hardware) Pte Ltd; Zhang Guojun, Municipal Party Committee Secretary; Yang Yong, Deputy Municipal Party Committee Secretary and Mayor; and municipal leaders Sun Tao and Li Chuanzhu.
During the symposium, Zhang Guojun, on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and Government, extended a warm welcome to Zhuo Chaolai and his delegation, expressing sincere gratitude for the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce's concern and support for Mudanjiang's development. He stated that over its 55-year history, the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce has actively built communication bridges, guiding Singaporean entrepreneurs to invest and establish businesses in their home country, injecting strong momentum into economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between the two regions. As a regional central city in southeastern Heilongjiang Province, Mudanjiang possesses distinct locational advantages, unique natural endowments, a rich historical heritage, abundant cultural and tourism resources, and a solid industrial foundation. Standing at the new starting point of the "16th Five-Year Plan" period, the city, leveraging its own strengths, has proposed an overall positioning of "striving to be the vanguard in creating a new highland for China's opening-up to the north, building a nationally influential new-type industrialized strong city along the border, and establishing itself as a nationally renowned cultural tourism city and a highland for ice and snow tourism," accelerating the drive for high-quality revitalization and development. There is a sincere hope that the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce will utilize its strengths to comprehensively deepen cooperation with the city, identifying synergies in industries such as agricultural and forestry product processing, electromechanical manufacturing, and biopharmaceuticals, becoming the "best partner" in revitalization and development. The city will greet investors with the utmost sincerity, offer them the best policies, and provide the optimal environment, serving as the "most efficient attendant" for entrepreneurship and innovation.
Zhuo Chaolai expressed gratitude for Mudanjiang's warm reception and introduced the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce's development strategy and the purpose of their inspection visit to the city. He indicated that Mudanjiang is a city with immense development potential, boasting rich natural resources, a superior ecological environment, obvious locational advantages, a solid industrial foundation, and an excellent business climate. The Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce is willing to fully leverage its role as a bridge, further strengthening communication and coordination with Mudanjiang, promoting practical cooperation between the two regions, and jointly writing a new chapter of mutual benefit.
