TVB Proposes Corporate Rebranding

Deep News03-26

Hong Kong's Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) announced on March 25 that its board has recommended changing the company's official name to better align with its diversified, multi-platform business strategy in the evolving global media landscape. The proposed change would see the English name shift from "Television Broadcasts Limited" to "TVB Limited," while the Chinese name would be updated from "电视广播有限公司" to "无线集团有限公司."

The move aims to closely integrate the group's legal entity name with its internationally recognized "TVB" and "无线" brands. Since its launch in 1967, TVB has transformed from a single television production and broadcasting operator into Hong Kong's leading multi-platform entertainment and media conglomerate. The group is not only a top global producer of Chinese-language content but also a foundational force and technological hub within Hong Kong's entertainment and media industry.

Public records indicate that TVB is one of the largest commercial producers of Chinese-language programming worldwide. Headquartered in Hong Kong, it is among the few broadcasters globally that operates a vertically integrated business model spanning content creation, broadcasting, and distribution. TVB employs approximately 3,500 staff in Hong Kong and overseas, including more than 500 artists. The company operates terrestrial television broadcasting, streaming services such as myTV SUPER and TVB Anywhere, social media platforms, and the e-commerce platform "邻住买."
