U.S. President Donald Trump has arrived in the heart of Europe, following his remarks that he would not alter his plan to take over Greenland and his agreement to hold a "multilateral meeting" in Davos, Switzerland.
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte attended the forum, as did Finnish President Alexander Stubb. Rutte and Trump arranged this multilateral meeting. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen were also present at this World Economic Forum event.
The British Prime Minister and Danish leaders are both expected to be absent from the Davos forum. French President Emmanuel Macron had already left the mountain resort as scheduled on Tuesday, following a speech at the forum where he strongly rebuked Trump's threat to impose tariffs.
