The Shaanxi Provincial Welfare Lottery Center recently welcomed a special ticket buyer — Mr. Liu (pseudonym), who lives in Xi'an's High-tech Zone. He used AI to write a number-picking mini-program and claimed a prize of 5.08 million yuan. At the prize collection site, Mr. Liu recounted his lottery experience.
"Because I had some debt pressure and no other good options, I just held a 'give it a try' attitude, as the saying goes, 'whether there are dates or not, take a swing at the tree.' I didn't spend much each time, and I didn't buy every draw. Sometimes I might not have time, so I just skipped it."
When selecting numbers, Mr. Liu had a sudden idea and used AI to help write a number-picking mini-program. "I used this mini-program to let AI select 20 numbers out of 80, and then I revised among these twenty numbers. Based on repeated numbers, consecutive numbers, and the distribution, I manually adjusted them again — that's how I selected."
Rewinding time to August 28, Mr. Liu selected 20 numbers through the mini-program, which unexpectedly laid the groundwork for good fortune. "I used this mini-program to select these 20 numbers, and I myself chose these 6 groups of '11 pick ten,' spending more than 130 yuan. It was past 8 p.m. when I went to the betting station to print the ticket. Among them, one group of '11 pick ten' won the big prize."
The betting station Mr. Liu mentioned is Welfare Lottery Station No. 61012743, located in Longgang City, High-tech Zone, Xi'an. The ticket was printed at 8:27 p.m. that evening. That night, the 2026230th issue of Happy 8 was drawn, and nationwide there was 1 winning ticket for "pick ten hit ten," with a single bet prize of 5 million yuan. This only grand prize nationwide happened to fall on one of Mr. Liu's 11-number pick-ten multiple tickets. The ticket matched 10 winning numbers, winning 1 bet of "pick ten hit ten" and 10 bets of "pick ten hit nine," taking home 5.08 million yuan in prize money.
At 9:40 p.m., Mr. Liu used his mobile phone to check the winning numbers, and when comparing the tickets he found that one of them had matched 10 numbers. "At the time I still didn't quite dare to confirm it. Only the next morning did I tell my father." Mr. Liu's father didn't quite believe it at first either, but after confirming it he was quite excited and happy.
Here, a reminder to the general ticket buyers: This winning was an accidental event. AI-generated lottery numbers cannot increase the probability of winning, let alone predict the draw results. AI number selection is essentially just a random combination of numbers and does not possess any "precise prediction" capability. Lottery draw numbers are completely random, and there is no number-selection method that can guarantee a win. Do not superstitiously believe in AI tools, and do not blindly follow and imitate.
